“Whoa, whoa, said Harry! We would love to welcome you to one of the parks. Although they are all dog friendly, we spent the day at Highlands End and couldn’t believe how many friends we met! Here’s our guide to a perfect dog day out in Highlands End!
Daisy and I started the morning with a great run and game of fetch in the park’s dog exercise area. Here we can run ahead and have great views of the coast. We were happy and tired, ready for a quick rest and a drink in the motorhome before heading to the park shop where our owner bought some morning treats and some delicious dog food! After breakfast we started to get restless so after some provocative barking we walked to Ip Beach with a small picnic and a day of swimming and rock pools under Thorncombe Beacon. It took me a while to build up the courage to swim, but Daisy jumped onto the rocks! After chasing a ball on the beach it was so nice to cool off and have a swim, we almost got it to ourselves!
After the picnic, we walked up the hill to the park and took a quick shower to wash off the sand and salt water. After a long afternoon nap, it’s time to head to Martin’s Bar & Restaurant. It was great that most of the place was dog friendly, so Daisy and I were able to relax in the warmth with our owners and meet other dogs. We made a quick stop for a bowl of water before grabbing some treats from the bar and a few bites from the doggy menu, including some delicious doggy ice cream! As good as our food was, our owner’s burger and steak looked amazing! A short walk to the motorhome and it’s bedtime, not before greeting Jack and Matthew, the park rangers! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we met so many canine friends. Tomorrow we will go for a tour of the area! Our owners have used the app to discover dog-friendly attractions, beaches and places to eat, so we can’t wait to explore more and discover Dorset!”
