2022 Best Places To Camp: Top 10 In New England

I had the best series that will take him to New England with all his kings! New England’s highest mountain at 6,288 feet, Mount Washington.

When you see this beauty from afar, you’ll wish you could describe it. Mount Washington seems far from the summit of most of the other hikes on this list and being able to say you climbed it and climbed it is a good thing!

A popular and well-trodden trail to hike this bad boy is the Tuckerman Ravine and Lion Head Trail. I don’t recommend doing this in the winter, but I’m assuming you’re new to hiking in New England and haven’t been on the roughest mountains in the harshest months! If so, make sure you do a lot of research, as the summit of Mount Washington is known for having some of the worst weather in the world and the highest wind speeds ever recorded.

Check the weather before you go here. And if you want to think about winter, check out my post on hiking Mt Washington in winter!

Guided Canoe Trips In Maine & Eastern Canada

This hike deserves a second spot on our best New England list. The famous Franconia Ridge is probably the most popular (and hardest) climb on our list.

You’ll need 3.1 miles and about 2,900 feet of elevation gain to reach Haystack Mountain, but you’ll be treated to mile-long views as you climb Franconia Ridge.

This hike is like an unforgettable journey that will take you to Haystack Mountain (first 4,000 feet), the summit of Mount Lincoln (second), and the deck last to Mount Lafayette (third).

The 10 Best Places To Live For Dog Lovers

I hiked the North Sugarloaf and the Middle Sugarloaf. The views at Middle Sugarloaf are spectacular with nearly 360 degree views, so if I had to pick one, it would be Middle.

Fortunately, you can hide North and Central from the 3.3 miles of the Sugarloaf Trail with over 1,000 feet of gain.

The summit of Mount Pierce is a 5.9 mile hike via Crawford Road with approximately 2,400 feet of elevation gain.

It’s a rocky trail and getting to the top won’t be easy, but if you want a bench that looks directly at Mt Washington at sunset, start by looking at the top of Pierce!

I call the Mount Crawford hike via the Davis Path a well-kept secret because it doesn’t get much attention I guess!

It’s not far from 4,000 feet for those interested in the NH48 series, and it’s not easy!

But the views of Crawford Notch State Park and the valley below rival those at 4,000 feet! And it was nice not to meet many people on the way.

This walk, at a distance of 5.6 kilometers and a distance of 2,700 meters, is difficult! But when you climb up, you’ll slowly forget all that, because you’re treated to amazing views.

It may seem like a long distance or many kilometers, but as you approach the summit, you will come across two huge piles of rocks! That’s a good way to describe it.

It will be tiring, stepping on everything like stairs and it seems like it will never end. But looking back and through these photos, I want to try this hike again!
