A little background information on what we do as new pet parents. A few years ago, when Covid suddenly took over our lives and the first lockdown began, my husband and I joined a community of animal lovers to help feed street dogs. And so we found a very beautiful park without the mother of the lost children in the park. They weren’t even a few weeks old and we took turns feeding them. One of them was a strong and playful dog and a friend of ours named him Raju as it was his favorite name for every dog.
Raju grew mischievous and chubby by the day and quickly became a happy-go-lucky but powerful alpha. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and apparently in the middle of the night he was hit by a rock when he was less than six months old and broke his back. Raju was a paralyzed boy and was in a lot of pain – many doctors asked us to put him down. Finally one of them agreed to the operation and we brought him home, hoping that one day he would be able to walk and run like a dog. However, two years later, when he can stand and walk a little, he is not paralyzed and incontinent, but he runs in a wheelchair bought for him. And Raju traveled to the coast and forest and now he is having a good vacation in the mountains. His younger sister, Ishu, has lived with him through hardships and infirmities and has also been staying with us for the past few months and this is the first time he has left home.
