Day Trips With Dogs Massachusetts

Day Trips With Dogs Massachusetts – Welcome to Dog Friendly Provincetown, located at the tip of the Cape Cod Peninsula. Of all the places Bodie and I visited in New England, this was the place full of puppy love—everyone seemed to have a canine best friend, which may have been due to the fact that our visit coincided with a big carnival. . Dogs.

Remember, in the spirit of happy holidays and lively holidays, every summer day is like a carnival on Commerce Street. (There are all the boutiques, cafes, galleries, gift shops and a very nice guy who only sells pink cakes within this three mile radius!)

DOG-FRIENDLY THINGS IN PROVINCETOWN: P-town is a feast for the eyes, just take a stroll and your eyeballs will be entertained every corner – here is a drag queen with a sparkling deck, there is a weathered gray house…

Ultimate Dog-friendly Texas Road Trip

Author Kenny Porporo calls it “10 square miles of pure charm,” where you’ll find picture book cottages, groups of artists painting the boat harbor, and hidden wooden piers.

Look in the window at the Provincetown Bookstore, where you’ll find themes from Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams, and Norman Mailer, all of whom were inspired while vacationing or living here. I’ve heard that intrepid writers like Jack Kerouac and Eugene O’Neill were left alone at their typewriters, but unfortunately, that’s not dog-friendly. However, you can hire a local pet sitter for an hour, or you can have a beautiful mother who hates colorful horses. Art Dune Tours.

This beautiful painting by provincial artist Nicoletta Poli is from the Poli’s Dogs series and original works can be seen at Poli’s Gallery on Kereskedelmi utka. I love the opening line of Polly’s Dogs:

“Hills, dogs, sea and sky – all this is very beautiful to me. I hope to show how a simple image can evoke the greatest emotion – the love between a person and a dog.”

DINE IN THE DOG-FRIENDLY DISTRICT – There are over 20 dog-friendly restaurants along Commercial Street, but our favorite is grabbing lobster rolls and Portuguese cabbage soup from the window at The Red Shack and then dipping our toe. warm beach sand and paddling with different dogs.

Found Bodie’s PTown life ring at Paws & Whiskers – they have their own dog bakery – and tossed it into these pastel colored ice cream cones. (The photo shows Bodie in the early days, with his lower gear fully installed.)

My favorite dessert comes from a Portuguese bakery in Provincetown – Malasadas are like a big runny donut, but they ooze the most delicious butter. (I wrote a book about UK and US cakes in New England and this bakery took the cake!) Like everything in the province, minutes from the beach…

Dogs Luv Us And We Luv Them: Travel With Dogs

DOG-FRIENDLY WHERE TO GO IN PROVINCETOWN – Lands End Inn. This is one of my favorite hotels in America. From a distance, it looks like a dovecote, but it is hexagonal with balconies.

As you climb the flowery hills, you’ll feel like you’re walking through the glass windows into the private home of a globe-trotting art collector from the 1930s. The focal point of the hall is the large picture window (facing the fireplace) overlooking the sparkling sea.

Art Nouveau mixes with Art Deco, brocade with brass, Phileas Fogg with Fu Manchu. However, despite all the old and ancient volumes, there is nothing edgy or strange about it. It feels deeply luxurious and unique.

This is just to browse each room’s unique decor, but for dog-friendly options on the hotel’s website, click Gull Hill, Mission Oak, West Indies and Wisteria (pictured here).

After settling into a beautiful historic hotel, my husband and I went to explore Salem!

Salem is known for the famous witch trials of 1692, where many local residents were executed for practicing witchcraft. One of New England’s most haunted towns, this area is steeped in history and offers many opportunities to learn about its mysterious past.

We started by visiting the historic “Witch House” – the only building in Salem directly related to the Witch Trials. It is also known as the “Jonathan Corwin House” because Judge Jonathan Corwin was one of the judges who heard claims of witchcraft in the 17th century. While in Salem, you can tour the house and learn what life was like for the people who lived in Salem in the 1600s.

We also looked at Salem 1630: The Pioneer Village. It’s an interactive open-air museum that will make you feel like you’ve gone back in time. Another blacksmith shop, a medicinal garden, perfectly reconstructed thatched huts and much more. Built in 1930 to celebrate Massachusetts’ 300th anniversary, it was America’s first living history museum. 100% pet friendly and one of my favorite places we visited on our trip. Additionally, did you know that some of the scenes for Hocus Pocus were filmed in Pioneer Village? As a fan of Hocus Pocus, I loved exploring the city and taking pictures of famous filming locations.

After a long day of exploring, I was so happy to rest my tired feet in our suite. The spa suites at Salem Inn Westhouse are spacious, relaxing and pet-friendly. The large hot tub provided a great opportunity to relax.

The rest of our long vacation consisted of exploring downtown and seeing the Hocus Pocus movie locations! Why leave Fido at home on your next trip if you don’t have to?
