We are so lucky to be in Georgetown, a neighborhood that welcomes people and pets! Francis Dog Park is a short walk from our front door and is a great place to take an active pup for some exercise and social time with the local dogs since I travel a lot. With my sister’s English bulldog, I’m always looking for pet-friendly hotels. We love bringing our dog so it feels like the whole family is together, especially when we’re hiking or skiing.
However, there are many things to consider when traveling with pets. There are additional costs, weight, breed or number restrictions, areas for pets to rest, whether or not your furry friend will feel at home with a welcome touch like food… it can be a lot! And if you’re traveling with a cat or other pet, it’s hard to know if your loved one is allowed (I think so, because my sister also has a rabbit!).
Fortunately, Washington is a pet-friendly city because of its many outdoor activities. This is a search for pet-friendly hotels, so I compiled a list of some of my favorites. Thompson Seattle is one of Seattle’s favorite places to stay, so I always add it to my list of recommended places to stay. This is a Hyatt so you can expect the luxury amenities the brand is known for: in-room toiletries, linens, local coffee and modern decor. Kimpton also provides loaner bicycles, comfortable beds and tea and coffee service. But pet-friendly materials are truly next-level.
The hotel accepts pets of any size or weight at no extra charge. You’ll also get plush pet beds, water bowls, free food, mats and a concierge list of nearby pet restaurants, parks and groomers. If that’s not enough, you’ll get lots of poo bags to walk around at the last minute!

This is a four-star hotel, so you can expect amenities like free Wi-Fi, concierge services, a fitness center, and an indoor pool. Since it’s also one of the best green hotels in Seattle, keep an eye out for automatic LED bulbs and mini-shower heads, too.
When it comes to bringing Fido along for a trip, expect to pay $30 per night for puppies up to 80 pounds. You can only have one pet per room, which is inconvenient if you have multiple dogs. But floor mats, food bowls and a pet-friendly kit full of treats can make up for it.
