If you’re looking to stay in a cabin in NSW with your dog, I’ve put together this list of some of the great pet-friendly cabins in NSW. Most are located in caravan parks, while some cabins are park only. While not exhaustive, this will hopefully give you some ideas on where to take your pup on your next vacation

Many caravan parks near Sydney don’t allow pets, so it’s no surprise that there aren’t many pet-friendly cottages near Sydney. Check out these options available within a two-hour drive of Sydney
It’s just a two-hour drive south of Sydney to Geringong, south of Kiama. A great dog-friendly caravan park is Wherry Beach Holiday Park. As well as allowing pets on site, the caravan park also features three two-bedroom pet-friendly cabins.
If you book a cabin with a dog, direct booking is required. Please note that dogs are only allowed in the park outside of NSW school holidays and public holidays
Holidaying With Dogs
The best thing about taking your dog to Wherry Beach Holiday Park is that you are directly opposite Wherry Beach, where you can be off-leash. There’s also an off-leash headland park and the dog-friendly Kiama Coast Walk nearby.
Recently, another Kiama Coast Holiday Park, run by Kiama Council, started allowing pets in some huts. At Surf Beach Holiday Park, select 2-bedroom cabins are pet-friendly for an additional fee of $25 per night.
The park is located a short distance from Kiama town center and the famous Blowhole. Please note that the nearby beach does not allow dogs on the sand, although the nearby Calula Nature Reserve has an off-leash dog training area.
Direct reservations are required by calling or emailing the park. Pets are only allowed during off-peak times, such as at Werri Beach Holiday Park

If you prefer to head north of Sydney, there is a great dog-friendly caravan park between the Central Coast and Newcastle Blacksmiths Beachside Holiday Park. I’ve camped in an RV in the park before, but there are also several dog-friendly cabins
Both pet-friendly cabins have a doggy door to an enclosed patio, as well as a dog bed and water bowl. It’s best to call ahead before booking to check the rules as some types are prohibited. However, there is no peak time limit
The park is a short drive (or a long walk) from patrolled Blacksmiths Beach and a dog beach on the northern edge of town. There is a dog washing service on site
Pokolbin is only about a two-hour drive from central Sydney, depending on traffic, but still close enough for a weekend trip with your dog. If you’re looking for a pet-friendly lodge in the Hunter Valley, look no further than Ingenia Holiday Hunter Valley.

There aren’t many pet-friendly lodges around Port Stephens, but a nice pet-friendly caravan park in the area is BIG4 Bays Holiday Park in Anna Bay, although unfortunately pets are not allowed during NSW school holidays and long weekends.
In addition to being allowed in places with and without electricity, dogs are also allowed in selected cabins and caravans. Another dog-friendly caravan park in Forrester-Tunkuri is Discovery Park – Forrester, located north of the city on the Darawk River. Dogs are welcome in the park all year round, both in selected locations and in selected cabins
Where kennels are allowed is clearly stated on their website – just look for the “Dogs OK” icon. Even luxury riverside cabins allow pets! Please note that an additional charge applies and usually only one dog is allowed per booking. Therefore, if you have two dogs, please contact management.
The park has plenty of additional amenities for dogs (although families will also love the resort’s newly opened pool and splash park). There is a shaded fenced dog park, a self-service dog washing and drying service (fees apply) and a Discovery Bark Walk every Sunday morning at 8am.
Further north is Diamond Water Caravan Park, located on the Camden Haven River near Laureton, 40 minutes south of Port Macquarie. It’s a beautiful place surrounded by bush and dogs are welcome all year round, although there are no cats to protect the local wildlife.

A very popular caravan park with pet owners is Reflections Holiday Park on Moni Beach, north of Coffs Harbour. Dogs are allowed at this caravan park all year round, both on site and in selected cabins

Woolgoolga is home to Lake Woolgoolga Holiday Park, just across the road from Coffs Harbor and Moni Beach. Pets are welcome in the park most of the year, except December 20 and January 14 and the Easter long weekend.
