Another great area near Lake Wallenpaupack is the S human Point Natural Area. Rental dogs can join you on this 3-mile hike suitable for all skill levels, where hikers can enjoy beautiful views of the lake and forest vistas. After about 2 miles, you will see stone walls that were used as fences to separate farmland.
Promise State Park is just a short drive away. Located in Greentown, Pennsylvania, the park offers riders approximately 50 miles of trails. Dogs on leashes can walk with their owners on the Little Falls Park Trail. This 1.4-mile trail follows Wallenpaupack Creek and passes the small waterfall from which the trail is named.
Lehigh Gorge State Park is dog-friendly with wide trails and river views. The entire route is about 26 miles long, but shorter sections can be started in Rockport. Well done as the trail is a bit steep at times. Be sure to find the path to an abandoned railroad that offers views of the river. This is a great trip to take with your dog.
