Pet Friendly Hotel In Portland, Me

I love the quiet New England coastal town of Castine with its rich history and beautiful architecture. A beautiful pentagon in the center of town is the yellow, classic Queen Anne Victorian Inn with a terrace, wrap-around porch and harbor views.

What most people don’t realize is that the hotel also includes an 18th century country house. All rooms are furnished with antiques and include a full breakfast (the hotel is famous for its dining room and cozy bar).

Although you can’t bring your dog into the dining room, you can eat with him. Castine’s quiet streets invite wanderers, and signs throughout the city detailing its turbulent past add interest. Or go for a walk in the woods at Witherall Woods.

Mary Reinhart Roberts (famous for coining the phrase “The Butcher Did It” and inspiring the character of Batman), located on Agatha Christie’s 14-acre former hillside estate, is famous for its panoramic views of Wonder View Bar Harbor. . Although the country inn’s rooms are not pet-friendly, there are five family-friendly one- and two-bedroom suites. Guests have free use of the pier, kayaks and paddle boats. Motorboat rentals and licenses available.

The hotel is on the second floor, so they may not be the best choice for dogs who have difficulty climbing stairs. Rooms have air conditioning and cable TV. Located in the mountains 2 miles south of downtown Bethel, this bed and breakfast is close to Sunday River and Mount Abram. No credit cards.
