Best of all, the hotel offers in-room spa treatments for tired legs and sore feet. Your dog can join you for breakfast or dinner in the bar downstairs, and spare blankets, bowls and leads are also available. There is also a lead-free walking area around the helipad when not in use.

Dog Friendly Days Out At Cadw Sites Around Wales
Don’t be fooled by the hostel’s name, The Rocks is one of the nicest places to stay in Snowdonia, far superior to any dodgy YHA you may have experienced as a teenager. The view from the front balcony is exceptional – on a clear day you can see across the lake to the peaks of Snowdonia – and the shared living areas are beautifully furnished with plush sofas, plush rugs and blankets. The whole thing has little metal rings attached so you can leash your dog at breakfast or while you cook in the shared stainless steel kitchen, with a fire pit outside to watch the sun set over the mountains.
If you want a bit of Miami style on the Welsh coast, Sandy Mount House has it in abundance. Expect plenty of raw wood and neutral colours, bright bedrooms and an eye-catching tiled bar where dogs can dine with you for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Best of all, there is a huge stretch of soft yellow sand nearby that is the Crighill Trait. Walk along it and then climb the dunes to the Oyster Catcher Restaurant, which has dog-friendly areas and serves an excellent seafood dinner.
Throughout Castell Malgwyn there is a kind of gothic boudoir: charcoal gray walls, bold artwork, bookcases filled with books and large fireplaces all add up to a rather stately home. You’ll feel at home here, as there are only four bedrooms and the owners live next door. When you’re not relaxing in the music room or library, there’s a wonderful space for walking outside: try the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path for beautiful sea views, or take a walk in the surrounding impressive Preseli Hills, which are dotted with ancient burial mounds. If you want to avoid the crowds that descend on Wales’ more popular areas such as Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire and Brecon Beacon, head to the Cambrian Hills for a stay in Royston. This Victorian home has been converted into a gorgeous, quaint bed and breakfast with mid-century furniture and bright artwork that makes it feel positively modern. The two dog-friendly rooms are not carpeted for cleanliness, and there is a small sink outside to wash off muddy dogs after long walks.
