When you travel to the Northeast by RV, you’ll enjoy both mountain and ocean views! Big cities like New York, Boston and Philadelphia also have a bit of history and culture. This area really has it all. But like every other area we visited, Brickle and Digby have their favorite dog-friendly RV destinations in the Northeast.

Eleven states make up the northeastern region of the United States. Including Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. The northeast has a varied climate. with a very cold winter, but visiting the area in summer makes for great hikes. And the fall colors will inspire you to go out with your dog.

Our favorite part of the trip was the food. And the area has everything from Boston Baked Beans. wild blueberries, stews, purees, bread and apples! Our dogs Brickle and Digby definitely have favorites! We can share blueberry pie in Maine!

Mystic Seaport spans 19 acres on the banks of Connecticut’s Mystic River and is the largest maritime museum in the United States. But this is a real park! Walk your dog, see beautiful old boats, and learn about the maritime lifestyle common to this part of New England. Pets must be kept on a leash. And welcome in all outdoor areas. Pets can accompany you on narrated waterfront boat trips. As long as the tour size allows space for dogs on the boat! Choose an RV resort in an area with water views and welcome dogs!

Delaware is the second smallest state in the country. But there are also five beautiful parks for camping! We enjoy Killens Pond State Park near Felton, Delaware. Killens Pond is a great place for kayaking, canoeing, boating or rowing and walking around the pond with your dog. Killens Pond State Park Campground has 59 single-family campsites with electric and water hookups that are dog-friendly.

You may have heard of the popular Bar Harbor in Maine. But have you ever heard of Bass Harbor? Kinsua Bridge State Park is a 137-acre Pennsylvania state park near Mount Jewett. Kinzua Bridge State Park was selected as one of the “25 Must-See Pennsylvania State Parks” by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and the Bureau of Parks.

When it was built in 1882, the Kinzua Bridge was the tallest railway bridge in the world at 301 feet. It’s a great place to walk. Visitors with their dogs can walk around 600 feet of the remaining tower. Look out into Kinzua Gorge and some glass platforms at the end of the walkway.
