They also left flowers and tangerines in our rooms; on top of that, the accommodation was excellent, with clean, quiet rooms and very comfortable beds.
All the staff were exceptional, including the housekeepers who were excellent and took a personal interest in our well-being. We highly recommend Podium Lodge as the only place to stay in Cambridge.

Located 1.1 km from Sunset Beach, Port Waikato Holiday Park provides a shared lounge, a tennis court and a shared kitchen for your convenience.
There is a children’s playground and barbecue facilities. Fishing and canoeing are available nearby.
We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas and New Years and really enjoyed our stay. We found all the staff very friendly and approachable and we also appreciated how clean the park was, how well it was maintained. Another big plus for us is that our dog can stay too.
I would definitely recommend staying here, it feels safe with gates to stop traffic and regular patrols to keep an eye on things. We also had visitors in the new year who had no problem getting into the office and were very well received.

It arrived on Christmas Day. Nothing was too much of a problem, stopping staff from watching over the Christmas lunch standoff. The perfect car camper for pets. Very clean and tidy. Excellent facilities, TV lounge, kitchen and shower block. Kind worker.
Port Waikato is a secluded beach on the west coast, an hour’s drive from Auckland, but 50 years…if it’s quiet, this is your place; not much to do unless you fancy walking to the beach surfing or kayaking, but a beautiful, relaxing and peaceful place.
There’s a local newspaper for essentials, a fast food van with direct view of the campsite for dinner, and an occasional beach cafe. Little kids don’t have to do much; more suitable for families or older couples and well-behaved pets by prior arrangement.

The park was purchased two years ago by the local Maori hapu (consortium of local residents), so the owners have a genuine interest in keeping the property clean and with modern facilities.

Great place to stay. Very clean, good location for the city. Our kids loved playing in the pool. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely return here when we are in the area.
This is one of the best motels I have stayed at in the North Island. I was able to keep my Border Collies in the unit and the staff were very kind and respectful to not disturb my dogs.
The motel has been refurbished to a high standard. My room was recently renovated so everything was new and fresh.

Sky TV and Wifi were great. Fully equipped kitchen for cooking, so if you don’t want to eat out, you don’t have to! Great bathrooms with good size towels and a “real” hair dryer!
Pet-friendly is a huge bonus: no dogs left in the house! My little girl, Stella, loved being with the resident dog, Holly.
There is a swimming pool and spa which are very popular during the summer months.
If you come to Cambridge I highly recommend Leamington Spa – pet friendly, very lovely families and hosts.
