Dog Friendly Vacations Virginia

Dog Friendly Vacations Virginia – We travel with puppies as much as possible. We love you. We joke that we are preparing to travel with a child one day. Regular stops, evenings, kills, pots… well, there is some truth to that!

Our Bernedoodle Sally has been to more states than most of our friends. 25? More precisely! And if there’s one thing we’ve learned about dog-friendly travel, it’s the many destinations

“puppy approved”, but this is not always the case. Many have very limited options for dog friendly hotels, dining, activities, etc… but not in Greater Williamsburg, Virginia! We’ll even go out on a limb and say that Williamsburg is as fun for dogs as it is for people (if Sally could talk, she would)!

You may not be able to go inside the buildings and museums, but you are free to walk your dog around Colonial Williamsburg.

Although we didn’t make it to Busch Gardens this trip, we found out that they have a dog shelter – so we can have it! We will definitely take advantage of this next time we are in town with Sally!

Although the puppy may not understand the meaning, we still think it’s cool that they can visit the first permanent English residence in America! Pets are not allowed in the buildings, but wild animals are allowed in every area!

*If you are in the area, we recommend kayaking at the James City County Marina! (Make sure you bring your dog’s life jacket!)
