Dog Friendly Holidays Uk 2023 – At Saunton Beach Villas, we embrace a dog-friendly ethos and welcome furry friends into all our villas all year round. There is no limit to the number of dogs you can bring, and we only charge £40 for the first dog, and other dogs are free! To make sure your canine friends feel at home, we offer free dog care during bookings. With open arms and dedicated attention, we strive to ensure that your four-legged friends have as enjoyable a holiday experience as you.

Over three miles of sandy beach, the Braunton Burrows Dune System is on our doorstep, offering visitors miles of hiking and unparalleled views. Branton Burroughs is the second largest sand dune system in the UK and is at the heart of the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserve. With no upper limit on the number of dogs you can bring, or negative restrictions on breed or size, you can rest easy, knowing that your entire family will be greeted with a smile.
Things We Wish We Knew Before Our First Dog-friendly Holiday
Located on a dog-friendly beach, our dog-friendly apartments are a haven for dogs and their owners. Each villa has its own fully fenced garden, allowing your dog to run freely (and smell the bubbles!). Our outdoor shower is great for washing off sandy feet and tents after a nice walk on the beach or through the dunes (especially for washing wet clothes!).
Our beach villas offer attractive and comfortable accommodation for families, couples, groups of friends and their dogs. All villas are fully equipped for a relaxing beach holiday in Devon.
For furniture, we provide blankets to protect sofas and soft furnishings. If your four-legged friend likes to curl up on the couch, or if you think you need more, please bring your own blankets to make sure all the furniture is protected. The villas have dry floors that can be swept and cleaned – no carpets here!
Dog crates with pet beds are available on request, saving space in the car for everyone. Upon arrival, our canine guests are treated to a dog crate with a variety of treats, including a unique Saunton Beach Villas dog tag to wear with pride! We no longer charge individual dogs per night – the £40 dog fee covers all your dogs during your stay.

In February 2023 we were delighted to receive a bronze award in the ‘Dog Friendly Business of the Year’ category at the Devon Tourism Awards Final, held at Home Park Stadium in Plymouth. We are proud to walk with ‘Commented’ status in the ‘Self-Catering Accommodation’ category. We are very proud to have won these awards in recognition of our commitment to creating the best dog-friendly holidays for our guests.
In 2021 we won a Silver Devon Tourism award in the ‘Dog Friendly Business of the Year’ category and were also awarded ‘Commented’ status at the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards.

Dog Friendly Fife
We also stock a range of tried and tested treats (for office dogs!) from Kelso and Titch, including Doggy Popcorn, delicious sausages and dry biscuits. We’re also big fans of their cute paw and nose balms – perfect for giving your little dogs some TLC after a long walk on the beach!
All our villas are dog friendly with no dog restrictions, however if you are bringing four or more dogs we recommend booking a larger villa. For example, if there are 4 people and 5 dogs, you may be comfortable in 6 berths instead of 4. It is not necessary to book, we just want to offer it for you to have peace of mind!
We have dog groups, such as agility groups, that often live with us because they can be together without worrying about the dog’s boundaries. We often hear from families who haven’t gone on holiday for years because they couldn’t find a place to stay with all their dogs, we are happy to be able to offer such groups a holiday together.

Be Inspired: Pet Friendly Accommodation
Yes, each villa has a fully fenced garden – fences up to 4ft high and ‘hit and miss’ style. If you need a specific fence height for a specific villa, please let us know. In the garden, you will find an outdoor shower, perfect for washing the sandy feet and tents after a long walk on the beach, or for cooling off your dogs on a hot day!
If you have a dog that could benefit from a quiet place on site, please contact us and we will be happy to recommend the most suitable villa for you.
We do not prohibit our guests from leaving their dogs in the villa if they want to go out. Yes, please keep your dog reasonable and do not leave your dog for a long time, if the villa is very hot. We ask that you respect the neighbors and do not leave your dog alone if you know it is making noise when you are not there.
Nice and clean, the well-equipped kitchen provides the children with a food bottle that has lots of cute things they love to play with.
Pet Friendly Accommodation In Scotland
We have stayed here many times and have just returned from a glorious week in the sun. As always, the villa was clean and very comfortable. The enclosed gardens are great for dogs and we both loved the freedom to walk in and out of the villa. With a 2-minute walk to a large, incredibly beautiful and dog-friendly beach, you won’t need to go anywhere during your stay (except for a trip to the beach store for treats!). A must for people holidaying with dogs, Saunton Villas are friendly and welcoming. Thank you Saunton Villas!
Absolutely love Saunton Sands, the beach is dog friendly and the people you meet along the way all love it… what a great place! After staying at Saunton Beach Villas this season, I can’t recommend it enough! The villas are beautifully designed and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay with your best furry friends! Nothing has been left to make it as relaxing and enjoyable as possible for dogs and their people! It’s a stone’s throw from the beach and all the amenities are on offer, from keeping dog-friendly items including homemade cookies and cream to the grocery store to pack everything you need for a beach day! Both restaurants are recommended and they click and collect food … dinner is also arranged! I highly recommend everything about this beautiful place. Thank you for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
