For a nice salty dip, Wamberal offers one of the best dog walking spots on the coast. The off-leash section of the beach extends from the access point on Surfer Road, Wamberle, north of Terrigal Lagoon, after which it is an off-leash zone to Painters Lane in Terrigal. With free parking and a dog dispenser, you can relax in comfort and watch the dogs choose between swimming in the lake or surfing. Perhaps the most popular dog beach on the Central Coast. No matter what time of day it is or what season it is, the beach from Copacabana to McMasters Beach is always full of dogs. The northern end of the beach is not suitable for dogs, but the best place to park is near Copa Lagoon.
If your dog is a social butterfly who enjoys walks primarily to meet friends, Terrigal Haven is the place to be. The canine social capital of the coast, this large grassy outcrop overlooking the sea and Scullen is fully enclosed and always full of furry friends to play with. Then head to the small beach, although Terrigal beach is dog-free just around the corner.
Here you will find easy access to the beach and parking. Shelly Beach North is perfect for toddlers and fur babies. This part of the beach is off-leash, but if you want to walk to Toowoon Bay you will need to return your dog on a lead.
Dogs on the peninsula have many options to choose from. Ettalong Beach is dog friendly and many of our four-legged friends love it! The beach is well marked with rules, so be sure to check them. But south of Amina, Bungalow Street is dog-friendly, with a completely off-leash section below. Great fun for dogs who love water like the ocean. It’s pretty quiet here. Grabbing a coffee to go at Lords of Pour or the Energlow kiosk is always good!

It’s a really awesome dog beach that allows off-leash running at the north end of the beach. The 400m off-leash section starts at the northernmost point and runs down to the Agate Avenue car park. This beach is also great for swimming with your dog as the water is usually quite calm.
For runners and their best friends, Lakes Beach is perfect for those after a good workout. The 600-meter long area is completely fenced and is ideal for walking dogs. However, it is extremely important to stay within the boundaries of Ocean Street and the northern parking lots; dogs are prohibited from entering other parts of the area.
The Secret Dog Beach can be found at the other end of the off-leash dog park in Davistown. The entrance is located on Malinia Road. It’s not a bad place for people to swim in the summer months either.
Are dogs allowed at Nora Head Beach Hotel? Most people think it isn’t. But if you follow the edge of the cliff as if you were going to Norah Head Lighthouse, there is a dog-friendly stretch of beach. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Norah Head Rock Pool. Here you will find dog parents spending the day at the beach, usually with small children as there are lots of rock pools on a hot day.

Killcare has a four kilometer dog area on Beach Drive. How to get there? Turn left on the sand and head north about halfway down the beach. But one thing to remember: it is near the entrance of Bodhi National Park and dogs are not allowed in this area to protect the ecosystem.
