Considering how many beaches Sydney has? Unfortunately, there aren’t many places that allow pets, but there are some options to consider. I have compiled a list of all dog friendly beaches in Sydney. Plus recommendations for dog beaches in the north and dog beaches in the eastern suburbs. Some of these favorite beaches include:
Rose Bay Beach – The most dog-friendly beach in town. This harbor allows beach dogs to be leashed all day.
Silver Beach (Curnell near Cronulla) – one of Sydney’s southernmost beaches. Dogs are allowed on this part of the beach on the west side. There are faucets for people. And best of all dog water bowls, they are closed 24 hours a day and the water is calm because they are in a boat bay.
The Best Pet-friendly Stays Around Australia
Sirius Cove Reserve (Mosman) – Another harbor beach. But this time on the north side. This area of pebbly sand is adjacent to a park that is great for picnics. Dogs are allowed on a leash after 4:00pm on weekdays and before 9:00am on weekends and holidays.
Rowland Reserve (Bayview) – Located about an hour north of the CBD on beautiful Pittswater, it’s especially popular with big dogs. In fact, there are often mobile dog washes open here. Plus, it’s across the river from Newport, which has a huge, dog-friendly beer garden.
