Dog Friendly Vacations Quebec – When you travel Is your dog coming too? This is the second dog friendly trip we have taken with Henry. And even then it takes a little more planning. But it’s always super fun.

We love traveling with Henry. And this was his first road trip. We traveled to Quebec City. Which is much more dog friendly than expected!

Choosing the right hotel for your trip with your dog is important. If you are traveling with your dog for the first time Check out this blog post. In which I will talk about how to choose a pet friendly hotel.
We were traveling with my parents and their elderly dog, Lupo, a 10-year-old Coton de Tulear. It was important to choose a hotel that worked for all of us and our dogs.
Best Dog-friendly Place In Quebec
We stayed at the Port-Royal Hotel. Close to Quebec Harbor and Old Quebec We almost used the car during our 5 day stay. She was very accommodating.
The daily pet fee is $25 per day (which is a little unusual because they didn’t clean our room during our entire stay due to COVID), but you have to pay the pet fee when you travel. So please plan ahead.
I love that they have a small kitchenette in the room. Including a coffee maker, stove and toaster. But especially because we were able to store Henry’s food in the fridge and freezer.
Since we were on the first floor, we had a private balcony where we could all sit outside with the dogs without disturbing anyone. This is a great place to have breakfast and enjoy a break together.

The nearby restaurant Louise Taverne & Bar à Vin is delicious and allows dogs on the patio. (As long as they don’t bark)
Many restaurants are quite dog friendly. By law Dogs are not actually allowed in the restaurant, but the patio area is mostly dog friendly. But you always have to ask because we were rejected at a place.
Seeing as we were traveling with our 10-year-old Lupo Coton de Tulear, we planned the day. Ours is as far as it can go to be safe. Not to mention it was super hot all week!
We spent our days exploring new roads and places. and a few hours in the evening Our dog will stay with Linda. The lovely pet sitters we met at Rover took great care of our pups. This was a big help for us because we couldn’t leave our dog alone in a hotel room.

Planning ahead is important. We made all the reservations the evening before departure. So we know what kind of schedule we can accommodate the pet sitter. It also saves us a lot of time waiting in restaurants. And we don’t have to struggle to find a restaurant.
I recommend planning ahead when traveling with your dog. Having a dog with you is an additional responsibility. And you want to make sure you are a kind dog owner.
& La Buche raises a Quebecois favourite. We are sitting in the yard. And maybe we can bring a puppy, however I recommend asking before you go!
For dessert or an afternoon snack, stop by Casse-Croûte Roquette! When we visited there were many dogs hanging around the yard.
Quebec City Area Pet-friendly Vacation Rentals
If you’re looking for a dog-friendly adventure while in Quebec, visit Parc de la Chute Montmorency. This historic 83 meter waterfall has become one of the most popular in the region
After a while we crossed the suspension bridge. I’m afraid of bridges. and can’t get over it Especially with Henry (which of course was very scary) but my parents said it was great!
It’s where I like to walk. to get there We took the cable car to get a panoramic view not only of the falls. but also the Saint Petersburg River, Lawrence, Île d’Orléans and Quebec City.
Parc de la chute Montmorency is a great place to walk, explore and take photos with your dog. But don’t forget to prepare enough water for your puppy. Especially if you are traveling here during the summer. We brought a portable water bottle. I love that mine fits in my belt bag! (I’ll link some at the end of the post!)
Dog-friendly Getaways In Bc
Montmorency Chute is approximately a 20 minute drive from our hotel. After seeing the waterfall, we headed to Ile D’Orléans, a foodie’s dream, a 15-minute drive from Chute Montmorency.
We drive around Keep the puppy cool in the car. We stopped to buy jam at Tigidou and ice cream and chocolate at Chocolaterie de l’Île d’Orléans.
Among other things worth seeing are the vineyards and fields of hand-picked strawberries. And the lavender fields of Ile D’Orléans are a foodie’s dream. And of course we need to get back to eating more local food!
This was our first road trip with Henry. Of course we were very tight. Quebec City is a three-hour drive, and Henry loves the trip. So we don’t have to worry. If your dog is not used to driving, perhaps consider practicing a little before you leave.
