Dog Friendly Vacations Mississippi
Oxford, a small college town north of Mississippi, is a dog-friendly place with a few dog-friendly spots in a crowded square. If you need a break from shopping and dining, head to Cedar Oaks Park for a quick eight-minute stroll. The easy forest path is shaded, so you don’t have to worry about sweating. Enjoy local birds and wild flowers.
Dog Friendly Route 66: Oklahoma To Texas
In 2000, the Longleaf Trace was completed as a Rails-to-Trails project, converting the former Mississippi Central Railroad into 70 miles of trails for walking, hiking, biking and horseback riding. Dogs can also use the paths if they come off the road. The Jackson Trail Station at Mile 7 has a dog park where you can meet other hikers and their pups.

More places need to be found! Leased dogs are welcome to walk with you on the trails and paths, and if you want to picnic and enjoy, they can be attached to permanent facilities at the Davis Bayou and Fort Pickens Recreation Areas.
This community park has plenty of dog-friendly walking trails, as well as a large dog park with plenty of room to run. Your dog will love watching the geese in the pond as he walks through the park! There are designated areas for small and large dogs. Water and litter bags are available on site. There are also shaded areas and pavilions that will reward you after your walk.

A loop along the Columbus River Trail and the Tombigbee River is a feast for the eyes. If you get your dog, make sure it is safe at all times. The 4.4 mile scenic route begins on Main Street in downtown Columbus. One of the attractions of the route is the bridge over the river, which offers magnificent views of the sunset. The path is well lit, so you can enjoy it even after sunset. There is also a path that connects Riverwalk to the nearby soccer complex, where there is a dog park with fire hydrants, dog jump bags, fountains with dog bowls, and more!
Acres of dog-friendly parkland is a nature lover’s dream. Spending a day in the park costs about two dollars per person, and a small fee is very expensive. Grab your dog and walk the winding paths to one of the park’s spectacular waterfalls – there are 50 to explore, some as high as 30 feet! Clean up after your dog to keep the park beautiful and enjoyable for everyone.
From the top of Natchez Bluff, the Natchez Bluff Trail offers spectacular views of the Mississippi River. A 200-foot wooden staircase leads you and your dog to the dog’s bottom, a path that passes stately homes and Victorian boats on the Mississippi River. Stick around to watch the sunset over the river.
