Dog Friendly Vacations New Hampshire – This winter we took another great vacation to New Hampshire with our dog. If you follow the blog regularly, you know that Waterville Valley New Hampshire is one of our favorite towns in New Hampshire and Waterville Valley Ski Resort is one of our favorite ski resorts in New Hampshire, especially for dogs. love dogs! I’ve always wanted to vacation in New Hampshire with my dog, it’s great year-round, or in any season.
We love it there and we love the weather in New Hampshire in the winter, fall and summer. We think it’s the perfect vacation for dogs! It’s weird because lately we always go to NH in the winter. Last summer we were determined to go on a summer vacation with fresh mountain air and a walk with our dog, but between the wildfires in Canada and the floods -strange waters, we weren’t sure we’d make the long trip from Florida.
Dog Friendly Vacations New Hampshire
Whether you want to spend some time in the mountains or get out on the water, we have it all. New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesauke and Lake Sunapee are just two of New Hampshire’s many beautiful lakes. You can rent a boat and go to one of these lakes and bring the dogs! Just remember to follow dog boat safety rules and put a life jacket on your dog.
Pet Friendly Vacation Packages
Hiking in New Hampshire is great. There are many types of climbing and there are mountains “4000 ft” or 4000 ft and higher. Mount Washington is the highest mountain in New Hampshire at 6,288 feet.
There are many walking trails that are great for dogs. You’ll have no problem finding dog-friendly New Hampshire! More information on the NH State Parks Pet Friendly website. New Hampshire Magazine has some recommendations for The Best NH Dog Friendly Hikes.
Please consider the difficulty of the proposed walk and your dog’s walking ability and endurance. Most large dogs can safely walk between 2 and 7 miles, but this varies greatly from dog to dog. Before starting a dog walk, you should talk to your veterinarian.
New Hampshire is a place where the road can be difficult. The locals have strong hiking skills, so what they think is easy may not be for you and your dog! Be careful and make the right decision when choosing your hiking trails. And of course, always bring plenty of water for you and your dog!
Getaway Boston: Dog-friendly Tiny House Trip — With Love & Oats
One thing I really like about Waterville Valley Resort is that the resort has long, relatively flat, dog-friendly trails. It actually doubles as a cross-country ski trail, which is weird, but riders know that this particular trail is both hiking and dog-friendly, so skiers are rarely seen. we are on this road. The Icy Husky loves to walk this way! He lived on snowy roads, and even though he was 14 years old, he was still a young dog. We had so much fun!
I’m really looking forward to taking it there in the summer, but for a few reasons, summer just isn’t right. He’s starting to slow down and I’m afraid he won’t be able to do even the easiest walks after this year.

North Conway Pet-friendly Vacation Rentals
There are very few hotels in New Hampshire in the area that allow dogs. It’s funny that Waterville Valley Resort allows dogs in the hotel and on some trails, but the hotel does not!
There are many apartments around the resort and many owners rent their places, but none allow pets. There are also several shelters around the house, but only one of them is good for pets. It is called a snowy owl. We were there a few years ago and it was horrible. The location is perfect, you can walk to the entire resort area including the dog trails I mentioned above. Glad to see it is now under new ownership, so hopefully it will be up soon. The previous owner did not invest in improvements and we will not stay there unless changes are made.
For the past few years, we have stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, a Marriott property in Plymouth, New Hampshire. It’s about a 20 minute drive from Waterville Valley Ski Area, but it’s a great location! We love it there.
