BrewDog South Eveleigh has a fantastic location in Eveleigh’s former locomotive workshops next to a modern blacksmith shop. Both the indoor space, divided into a bar and dining room, and the outdoor beer hall are large. Dogs are welcome outside and inside the bar, as long as they are well behaved.
If you plan to eat alfresco, remember that this section does not require reservations, but you are almost always guaranteed a table, especially if you arrive at lunchtime. Their menu has a lot of plant-based options, and the burgers and tacos are especially delicious. And don’t forget to order a Barkuterie Board for your pup!
Just down the road from BrewDog is another great Sydney pub, The Alex. The heritage pub, which was fortunately saved from being bulldozed, is now part of the Merivale stables and its name has been shortened from the Alexandria Hotel to the Alex.
The highlight of a visit to Alex is the large courtyard, the perfect place to hang out on a sunny day at one of the long communal tables next to the basketball court. Dogs are allowed in all outdoor areas, although of course they must remain on a leash.
