This dog friendly resort is located in Catskill, New York, about two hours from Manhattan. We spent two nights and three days at the resort to rest and relax. He also wanted to take Gatsby on a little adventure.
This dog-friendly resort has 11 mobile homes nestled in the Catskill Forest. Depending on what you choose, they can accommodate 2 to 7 people. Each small house has a different name (we were Oki). These homes are equipped with kitchens, full bathrooms and toilets, heating/air conditioning systems, Wi-Fi, televisions with Netflix so you can watch your favorite shows, private patios with gas grills and fire pits.

📍 The ferry time we bought was 8am, but please note that you can join the ferry at any time and not the one you booked!!! Which is very practical. At the Marina ferry port there are many convenient stalls to buy drinks, snacks, I even had lunch there!!! (Although only nasi lemak, it doesn’t taste that bad!)
👍🏻 The ferry was very clean and it was a smooth and fast ride too! It took about 15 minutes, but me and my bf fell asleep so quickly because it was honestly so relaxing … but stay awake and you can enjoy the beautiful view of the sea.
🤍 The road between San Xoán and Lázaro Island is beautiful. The water is clear, blue and the breeze is nice.
Along the way, you will see many families doing the short trip or guys with fishing experience!!! We actually talked to one of them and he said that there are a lot of fish here and we can have a look at his small fish that he closes. The thing is, the fish were so big that I can’t imagine how big they are LOLOL. So people who know how to fish visit this place!!! 😆

📍 At the entrance to the road, there is a bike shop where you can rent bikes and segways so it’s cool but I hear your q!!! If you have your own bike, you can take the ferry to Oso to explore San Xoán Island and Parque Mariño Public Gallery. It is a beautiful place just for the AC and fill the water / toilet, but the tank was nothing to see !!! There are educational guides around the gallery, but they can also honestly be skipped because they are too short….
🤍 In Kusu Island, the island is very small, so you only need 30 minutes to explore the island, unless you have fun on its beach!! The thing about the beach here is that it is so beautiful … different from Lazarus in that it is whiter here than the blue water in Lazarus/St.John’s, but they are both very clear which I like. 😍😍 Kusu Beach as the water level is very low for swimming / paddling / playing photos with your pets and it is safe because of the surrounding breakwater.
Kusu’s iconic turtle pond also has lots of turtles, so it’s interesting to see!! I should definitely check this out 🤩🤩🤩 Many people pray in some temple there (can buy incense sticks etc.) but I liked the simple wishes. Supposedly if you flip a coin and a bell rings your wish will come true hahaha you have to try it!!
