Weekend Getaways For Couples With Dogs – There’s something about January that makes me want to sit down at my calendar and plan my entire trip for next year. It’s so cold and dark outside, curling up with your laptop and planning an adventure feels incredibly satisfying.

Even though we’re taking a break from our major international trips during the pandemic, we’re enjoying exploring the Seattle area and its amazing (and dog-friendly!) weekend getaways. After ten years of living in New York and Chicago, it’s exciting to return and rediscover old favorite travel spots, as well as to see all the new innovative glamping spots, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs springing up here. And most of all I would like to see how many of them agree to live with dogs. I’m so excited to bring Dave and Liz on vacation.

Honestly, the Coho Ocean Boardwalk stole my heart with its beachfront fire pits. Although this Oregon Coast abode is a short drive from Seattle, its beautiful modern interior and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean make the trip worth it. My New Year’s resolution is to check into Dreamy Lodge in St. Edward as soon as possible, which should be easy since it’s only half an hour from the city. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one of these Insta-famous A-frames for a long time, and I decided to do it this year. Tay River Cabin Co. Baker offers three different stunning A-frame cabins in the heart of the Snoqualmie National Forest, and all three are pet-friendly for an additional fee. We spent Easter happily in Semiahmoo in 2019 and I was looking for an opportunity to return to its beautiful scenery and remote beach that Lizzie loves to explore. Just steps from the Canadian border, this cozy hideaway is a great base camp for great hiking and spectacular views of the northern Washington coastline. Well, technically it’s not available yet, but we’ve signed up for booking notifications following the launch of stunning camping trailers in Olympic National Park. They offer comfort beyond standard camping, providing a secluded and environmentally friendly way to access nature. If you haven’t heard of Tentrr yet, you’re missing out. We’ve stayed with them twice (in Vermont and on our trip to Maine, which we wrote about here), and each trip was wonderful. Essentially, they set up luxury safari tents on isolated plots of private land, like this beautiful fruit farm near Mead, Washington. True, Idaho is a little far from Seattle, but we are willing to travel any distance to see this aerial spectacle. Plus, little details like the sauna and antique coffee grinder on site melt my heart.
