After all, vacations are a lot more fun when you can take your best friend along, but finding a dog-friendly hotel in New England takes a lot of research. What is the hotel’s dog policy? Are there additional fees? Are there weight or breed restrictions? And you might consider sacrificing your comfort when traveling with your dog. Is the only option to “stay” in dirty roadside motels and campgrounds? Are there places that not only allow dogs, but also meet dogs and their owners?

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes that a family vacation is incomplete without the four-legged members of the family. Their pet policy allows well-behaved dogs of any size in the home for $20 per pet per day. To book online, you can select any cottage, then add the pet fee at checkout.

Spread over 700 hectares, this resort has everything you need for the perfect vacation. Choose from a variety of activities for the whole family, from the land to the lake. The guest pool and walkway are a pet-free area, but dogs have their own swimming area, Funny Beach. We can also rent a sailboat to go out on the lake with Roscoe! Alternatively, you can dine at one of the resort’s five restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the dining area, but we can dine with you in Red Mill’s regular outdoor seating area. Store Field Guide Lodge is a modern boutique hotel managed by Lark Hotels. Like many properties, their pet policy allows dogs up to 70 pounds for $50 per additional dog per day. We stayed in one of their three suites, which have a great location and entrance. Apart from separately, you can book these packages online, just remember that there will be a number of Your dog, size and name in the payment. Dogs cannot be left alone in the room. Out of respect for other guests, dogs may only be kept in common areas outside the entrance and outside of the hotel.
This hotel stands out for its stylish, elegant decor. The lobby, decorated with retro wood-burning fireplaces and cozy fireplaces, invites you to curl up with a book or a board game. You can have breakfast in the lounge or drink and eat at the ski bar which has a new look only in April. You have to reserve the bathroom in advance, which is a little inconvenient but the advantage is that you are guaranteed to get it and the location can’t be beat. We can walk into the center of town and the mountain shuttle stops in front of the hotel.
Pet Friendly Vacation Packages
The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a special place to stay in the heart of Northeast Vermont. According to their pet policy, dogs are allowed in select rooms for $50 per night: Peacham, Danville, N. Danville, Maidstone, and Lost Country. You can choose the “pet friendly” option to book your room online. The house is very welcoming to animals, there is a friendly golden retriever working at the front and there is also an animal sanctuary on site. Just know if your dog reacts to other animals!
We stayed in the Deluxe Peacham Room which was private but comfortable. Roscoe especially loved sleeping in front of the roaring fireplace. In the morning, we were greeted with hot pastries from the oven and coffee in the hotel’s main building. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat it, the waiter brought us one of his fresh blueberry pancakes that we couldn’t resist.
This historic 400-acre farm, nestled in the hills of a northeastern state, is where I live. It’s worth getting up at the crack of dawn to watch the sun rise, pastel pinks and purples shining across the mountains and the morning mist down into the valley.
One of the most generous pet policies is the Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester. Everyone is welcome, from dogs to pets, as long as they fit in the elevator! There are no restrictions on size, weight, breed or number of pets, and there are no additional deposits or fees. The Kimpton Taconic is truly the perfect place to pamper your dog. Rooms are equipped with food bowls, toys, treats and Orvis Plus dog beds (the Orvis flagship store across the street is worth your dog’s attention). Dogs are allowed in the lobby and dining room of the Copper Grouse Restaurant. During the winter, they have outdoor heaters to ensure that they and your children are warm. In addition, you can request pet services, including but not limited to pet sitting, dog walking and pet spa services, by contacting the front desk.
Located in the heart of Burlington, Inn Vermont is a home away from home for both you and your pet. Pet Policy This charming downtown grocery store and breakfast welcomes its best animal friends for $25 per pet per day. You can book directly online, just remember to add your dog as a guest and enter the details in the note.
We stayed in room 904, one of the largest rooms recommended for large dogs. It is also comfortable with Rozko and the bathroom is in the hall (although at least they are private). The unusual nature of the inn may not appeal to everyone, but it is in a good location within walking distance of the city center. The owners are very friendly and willing to give recommendations for pet-friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
Located between Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort doesn’t just allow dogs, it makes dogs first. Their pet policy means dogs are welcome in the resort’s four luxurious queen rooms and select guest houses with homemade cookies, dog beds and bowls. You can reserve an additional $50 per dog per night, maximum of two dogs per unit Dogs must be registered at time of reservation

This warm and welcoming lodge is built with exposed logs and stunning mountain views. It feels like a true alpine escape, timeless and relaxing. As if the world around could change, Stohof will forever remain a familiar place to call home away from home.
With simple but clean rooms, this is the most affordable hotel in Stowe. Breakfast is a must, so go elsewhere for your breakfast but grab a drink from the bar fridge and relax with your kids. Choose between playing board games on the large table in the living room, reading a good book in front of the sunken fireplace, or watching the stars around the roaring fire.
