The Best Dog Friendly Vacations – As an avid traveler, I always appreciate the convenience and affordability of all-inclusive resorts for our family. From meals to activities, all vacations included in the price exclude a la carte dining, activities and the unpredictability of hidden charges. Some of my favorite all-inclusives allow me to bring the family pets on vacation.
Because I love taking our four-legged family members on family vacations, when I find an all-inclusive property with pets, I come back again and again because I have so many pet-friendly properties. All inclusive resorts in this list. If you’re a pet owner who likes to bring furry friends on vacation, you have options. Here are 10 of our favorite pet-friendly resorts.
The Best Dog Friendly Vacations
Located in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos is a pet-friendly property that allows two small pets (cats or dogs) up to 50 pounds each in select rooms as part of the resort chain’s beloved Unleashed program. For a $150 pet fee, you get a soft dog bed, greetings for your pet or pets, and certain areas of the resort that are open and pet-friendly. Walking the dog on the beach is also fun.

The all-inclusive, pet-friendly resort is a 20-minute drive from Cabo San Lucas International Airport and features six outdoor pools, a kids’ club, a bowling alley and an award-winning spa. Contemporary rooms and suites feature luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, spacious bathrooms with double vanities, and flat-screen TVs. Terraces off guest rooms encourage outdoor living with pet-friendly lounge chairs and dining areas.
Cabo San Lucas is known for its nightlife, but I love that it’s a walkable town with plenty of places that allow dogs. Take a stroll along the waterfront and stop at the Marina Mercado, where you’ll find local artisans selling handicrafts. You can take the early morning to see the Buccaneer Los Cabos Pirate Cruise, where you can learn about maritime history and see some whales. I love the morning snorkeling trips where I have a breakfast of eggs and pancakes on the boat while enjoying the beautiful view of the Sea of Cortez.
Other Hard Rock properties with pet-friendly rooms and discounts include locations in Tampa, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Sioux City and Lake Tahoe.
Zoëtry Montego Bay, an all-inclusive Hyatt resort, allows small dogs up to 22 pounds for $75. This popular place in Jamaica offers food bowls, treats, toys and soft beds for your dog. At press time, this is the only all-inclusive resort in Jamaica that allows pets. This is especially noteworthy because many of Jamaica’s most beautiful beaches are dog-friendly.

There is also a luxury full-service spa, along with many activities such as kayaking, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. There are also five restaurants, many of which offer fun outdoor dining with your dog. I highly recommend having breakfast outdoors in Coyaba with your pet. One of my favorite memories at this all inclusive pet friendly resort was eating there and people watching with our pup.
If you’re a golfer, head to Cinnamon Hill Golf Club for a round or two. Work with the hotel concierge to tour the Montpelier Estate, which is steeped in plantation history dating back to the 18th century. The property also offers hiking, biking and tubing on the Great River.
St.PeteBeach, TradeWinds Island GrandBeach Resort and neighboring RumFish Beach Resort welcome two pets (up to 80 pounds) for $30 per night. Both oceanfront resorts offer colorful rooms with traditional West Indian furnishings along with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Suites have a small dining area as well as a separate sitting area. All hotel rooms and villas at both resorts are pet-friendly.
At Tradewinds Island Grandresort, puppies have a pet play area, a large grassy area with a drinking fountain and fake fire hydrants. The property also has a dedicated dog walking area along the waterway and a dog shop that sells essentials such as treats, towels and toys. Rumfish Beach Resort, Island Grand’s Pet Play Zone does have a dedicated dog walk, though it lacks bells and whistles. Many resort restaurants are dog-friendly.

If you’re out and about, head to the newly opened Mutts and Martinis in St.Louis. In St. Petersburg, there are sports that accept dogs of all sizes. There are even dog pads for those hot Florida nights.
At Breathless Punta Cana, which is adults-only and all-inclusive for pets, you can bring a dog under 22 pounds for $65. Fido is warmly welcomed with food and water bowls, a dog bed, toys and treats. It has 10 Caribbean restaurants, eight bars, a casino and four pools, and they really go above and beyond for your dog, which is one of the reasons I love going with my pet.
The 750-lux resort is beautifully decorated in vibrant tropical colors. Suites have sitting areas, large bathrooms and balconies. Some suites have Jacuzzis and terraces with direct access to the pools. Water activities are popular here; You can book a sailing trip, go windsurfing or rent a paddle.

A 30-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Missoula, Resort at Paws Up is a dog- and kid-friendly luxury all-inclusive ranch. This 37,000-acre working ranch offers a variety of accommodations, from extravagant rentals to glamping tents. You can also choose both.
The great outdoors offers ample opportunities for hiking and running through the canopy forests; If you want to extend your exploration, the Lubrecht Experimental Forest is close to the property. If you’re visiting in the winter, try skiing with your dog, a popular cold-weather pastime.
But Paws Up’s biggest pet-focused event is the annual Canine Classic Marathon Walk for people and their dogs to benefit the Humane Society of Western Montana. If you’ve never visited Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee, I highly recommend doing so with your pet. Known as a culinary destination, the 4,200-acre property is located near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with access to 522,427 acres of outdoor recreation trails.
Dogs are greeted with food and water bowls, dog treats and a basket of balls. You can take your dog for a walk on the farm’s extensive grounds, go on a geocaching adventure or book a kayak tour. Other activities you may want to do on your own include bird watching, horse riding and enjoying spa treatments. I recommend ordering a boxed picnic lunch from the resort to take your dog on a walk.
Dinner is a fun and upscale experience at the barn, where you dress up and enjoy farm-to-table cuisine. Dogwood offers a more comfortable indoor and outdoor seating experience. My family enjoyed eating with our pup while enjoying the beautiful views of the Chilhowie Mountains. The resort charges a non-refundable pet fee of $250 per stay. Not all rooms are dog-friendly, so ask in advance.
