Paddleboarding continues to go from strength to strength and more and more centers are opening, both in the sea and more in rivers and water sports centers. In Cornwall, you have two good options.
SUP In a Bag is a great option to check out, with a very helpful trainer to help you find the best option for you and your dog. Where you go is up to you, but there’s every chance you’ll go to one of the best places for you and your dog that your trainer recommends.
Another option is to try Falmouth River Watersports, which is just outside of Falmouth near Mylor Churchtown. Like SUP in a Bag, they recommend a small session/rental to see what your dog is like at first, but are more than happy to accommodate you and your dog! If you’re going out with them, you’re just around the corner from Falmouth, where there are dog-friendly cafes or restaurants like The Boathouse or Fuel Café.
So you wouldn’t exactly think this would be a dog-friendly activity – but more English farms are popping up every day, and even better, there are plenty of places that allow dogs to come along for the ride. Granted, it’s a warning that they’re responsible, well-behaved, and that you’ll clean up any mess they leave behind—but if you want to sample the past with a dog to keep, it’s great.

A good choice for this in Cornwall is the Troyban Mill near Padstow. Award-winning and producing not only wine but cider, it’s a great choice and has a view balcony overlooking the vineyards and countryside. Visit, compete or check out the many events held throughout the year.
Water will always be a central feature in Cornwall, and if you’re not into river and coastal walks, there’s still the sea itself to explore. Dogs travel free on the ferry that runs between Fowey and Mowagisie – via St Austell Bay. This is a great way to get around the two spots and also gives you the chance to go to the Lost Gardens of Heligan on the other side. There, you can explore the 18th-century gardens created by the Tremin family, making for a wonderful day out – and dogs are welcome throughout the grounds, including the dining areas, as long as they’re comfortable!
You can also take your dog on a private charter with Helford River Cruises, which runs through Helford Pass, Trabe Gardens, Durgan, Falmouth Bay, Helford Village as well as the Port Navas, Polohural and French rivers.
If islands are more your thing, then there are cruises from Penzance Harbor to the Isles of Scilly – a place closer to the English coast and with a more tropical climate.
Make The Most Of Your Dog-friendly Stay In Cornwall
There are plenty of dog friendly options in Cornwall so if you don’t know where to go there are some great options.
They include the world famous Eden Project where dogs are allowed on all outdoor trails (but not biomes or secret areas). If you’ve brought the kids, dogs can come to Lapa Valley (provided they bring £1 in pocket money and are well behaved). They can also take part in entertainment at Port Eliot House and Gardens, where they must be on top – except Wednesday!
There is also Tintagel Castle where they are very welcome to come and learn the history and as long as they are up they can go anywhere in the country as there are ancient sites such as steps, stone ledges and nesting birds. ! If they want to meet the pups, it’s the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, where they only ask dogs to visit if their vaccinations are up to date – and there are some areas where dogs aren’t allowed.
However, the best places to go with dogs in Cornwall are often places to grab something to eat and drink. The Cornish countryside is full of dog-friendly cafes, restaurants, pubs and cafes – and even a few places to drink, such as Healy’s Cornish Cider Farm.

Find new dog-friendly places, travel tips and destination ideas your dog can’t chew. I think I was once on a boat from Falmouth to St. St. Mouse only once before, and I can not remember. I remember parts of the small town and certain things like throwing flat rocks into the ocean and buying a small sea turtle from the gift shop, but that’s just information. This is ridiculous as I am always in Falmouth and the ferry from the town is only 15 minutes to St. John Wes
St. Maws is a small town at the foot of the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall. It’s accessible by road, and you can get there from Truro by following the Tresillian Road to the other side of the peninsula (around 50 minutes by car, I think, though I’ve never done it!), or take a ferry. From Trelissick it crosses the peninsula and takes 30 minutes to St.Mawes.
…or the more fun way is to take a taxi/waterboat from Price Quay Wells or Custom House Quay in Falmouth. In the summer it departs every hour from every pier and operates 364 days a year! Adults return tickets cost £10 each.

Although Missy wasn’t too keen, Pepper didn’t seem to mind at all, and in fact, when we got back to the upper deck, she even took a liking to watching the waves through the gap under the seats. He also loved floats and pieces of rope hanging from the board…
We approached the street. Mouse and I started to remember some towns looking at all the houses facing the sea. There are several pebble beaches along the coast as well as several restaurants and bars to choose from. The famous Hotel Tresanton run by Alex Polizzi is also there!
It was a beautiful sunny September afternoon so we wanted to sit outside on the beach with the dogs for lunch. After disembarking at the pier, we couldn’t resist grabbing a pastry from St. John’s Bakery. Well, we know a lot of people who love these, so we knew we had to try them.
With full bellies we decided to walk along the coastal path to explore, so we headed up the hill west of St. Mawes, on the edge of the bank where the entrance to St. Town houses with good decorations we went.
