Dog Friendly Resorts Washington – There’s something about January that makes me want to sit down with my calendar and plan more trips for the coming year. It’s so cold and dark outside that curling up with your laptop and planning a trip is surprisingly comforting.

Although we’ve taken a break from major international travel during the pandemic, we’re loving adapting to the Seattle landscape and what a wonderful (and dog-friendly!) way to spend the weekend. After ten years in New York and Chicago, it was great to come back and find old favorites and explore new attractions, gourmet hotels, and unique Airbnbs from here. But what I really liked was seeing so many of them embracing dog-friendly options. I’m even more excited when we can take Dave and Lizzie on vacation.

Walla Walla is one of the best wine regions in the country with over 120 wineries, so I couldn’t think of a better place to spend a few days. I’ve been eyeing this modern downtown hotel for a while because it looks like the perfect campsite for a weekend of snow or wine tasting. Or both! Honestly, Coho Oceanfront stole my heart with these hot water pools. Although this Oregon Coast cabin is a short drive from Seattle, its beautiful, modern interior and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean make it worth the trip. My New Year’s resolution is to book a stay in St. Edward – which should be easy since it’s only half an hour from the city. This historic seminary has been renovated into a comfortable and beautiful retreat on 326 acres of trails right along Lake Washington. We had a perfect weekend at the Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 – and wrote about it here – and the memories have carried us through the first few months of closure. These 570-square-foot units come with amenities like private patios, fireplaces, and soaking tubs. I’ve dreamed of getting into the Insta-famous A-frame for a long time, and I’m determined to make it happen this year. Tye River Cabin Co. offers three stunning A-frame cabins in the heart of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie, and all three accept pets for a fee. Word to the wise – bookings can be tough as each amazing Insta post gets thousands of likes. We had a wonderful Easter weekend in Semiahmoo in 2019 and I was looking forward to the opportunity to return to its beautiful views and remote beach that Lizzie loved. Just a stone’s throw from the Canadian border, this quiet resort is the perfect base camp for hikes and spectacular views of Northern Washington. Very dog ​​friendly, puppies welcome with their own bowls, beds and (at least during our visit) souvenirs. Details about dogs here.

Travel back in time and stay in one of these vintage trailers in Dayton, Oregon. The best part? They are located in the Willamette wine region. The trailers are equipped with coffee, luxury linens and luxury baths. Dogs are allowed in the Shasta trailer and more details can be found here.

Anacortes is one of my favorite trips outside of town. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle to this charming beach town full of charming shops, delicious cafes, and water views. (Watermark Book Co. is one of my favorite shops in Washington!) And we love the town’s venerable inn, the Majestic, for its cozy guest rooms and amazing rooftop bar. I love a unique getaway and Rolling Huts of Winthrop definitely delivers. These tiny houses were designed by Seattle-based Olson Kundig Architects as a modern alternative to camping. This luxury resort on Hood Canal boasts that it has been welcoming pups since 1913, and we can believe it with its full line of Fido accessories. Make memories by renting a kayak, hiking the trails, or enjoying the views. Read dog instructions here.

Okay, so it’s not technically available yet, but sign up for notifications so we can get reservations as soon as these beautiful RV trailers hit the road in Olympic National Park. They offer comfort beyond a typical camper while providing a remote and sustainable way to get out into nature. I’m obsessed with the beautiful new Waterfront suites at this historic resort on Orcas Island, with private balconies overlooking the bay. I can already see myself there, with the book folded. If you’ve never heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. We’ve stayed with them twice (in Vermont and on a trip to Maine that we blogged about here) and each trip was wonderful. Basically, they set up luxury safari tents on exotic private lands, like this beautiful fruit farm near Mead, Washington. Granted, Idaho is a long way from Seattle, but you almost want to stay in the car for this aerial view. And, the little details like the sauna and the antique coffee grinder really melt my heart. Pets are allowed, although you will have to judge by the door step if this will be a happy holiday for you.
