2. Red Maple (Acer rubrum) trees are sometimes very colorful and beautiful fall foliage and are considered non-toxic to dogs and cats. However, the leaves of these trees are considered poisonous to horses – especially when dry. Ingestion can cause anemia, weakness, dark urine, difficulty breathing, miscarriage, and death.

3. Ginkgo trees (Ginkgo biloba) produce beautiful yellow leaves in autumn. It is important to know that there are male and female ginkgo trees. The males are considered poisonous to pets, but the seeds of the female tree contain ginkgotoxin, which is toxic to our furry friends. Its use may cause vomiting, irritation and dizziness. The easiest way to distinguish the different sexes is by fruit. The fruit of the female tree has an incredibly bad smell, even worse if your pet decides to roll in it!
