The Rocks Café is directly opposite the Dohles Rocks Boat Ramp overlooking the river and is the perfect place for a drink before a walk on the esplanade with your dog.
If you meet friends or want to sit back and relax with your dog, there is a beautiful bench on the side and large tables carved under a very old tree. I can’t wait to see the full bloom.
Little Black Pug Cafe
Owned by a local horse lover and a flamboyant Lardan, you’ll be greeted with a big smile and are likely to have a blast. Your order is pending. The friendly atmosphere and the “place” he created in the area meant that “at one time the locals” came back to meet and walk their dogs in the place.
In a good place for boats to go on the water. Grab some nice hot water and pick up your bait before heading out for an early morning catch.
If you haven’t been to the area, you might want to visit the Osprey House, a bird sanctuary where ospreys rest and nest. There is a lovely walk along the water that you can enjoy, but unfortunately and understandably dogs are not allowed in this area.

I love that when I talked to Lardan about my idea for a photo shoot, he knew exactly which dogs he wanted to invite and their names! haha His love for the visiting dogs and of course their people showed me how important this village is to him.

I like the way the cafe is set up like a small hut, order at the front and you can collect your order from the side window. It’s very easy to order if you have a dog.
