There is nothing better than seeing our four-legged friends wagging their tails and rolling in the sand on the beach. That’s why the area boasts three dog-friendly beaches; Bombo Beach, Jones Beach and Werri Beach. All of these beaches have a splash pad area so your pup can run free. If your dog enjoys the water, he’ll also love to splash and swim at the beach. A friendly reminder that dogs are only allowed off limits from sunrise to sunset and must be on a leash when accessing these areas.
Dog Friendly Motel Kiama
Bombo Beach – Bombo is a great beach to let your dog run on the beach. Note that your dog is only allowed in the middle of the beach, so make sure you keep your dog in this area – if you’re not sure follow the directions signposted on the beach.

Very Beach – Located on Pacific Avenue, Very Beach off Leash is in a great location opposite the Surf Club, Bowling Club and Very Beach Holiday Park. As with Bombo Beach’s off-leash area, your dog is only allowed in the middle of the beach, so follow the signs to make sure your dog is in the right place.
John’s Beach (Southern End) – Located between Minnamura Headland and Cathedral Basalt Columns. The off-leash area is located at the southern end of Jones Beach. Note that the only permitted entry and exit is via the beach access road.
Bring your best friend to our green grassy area where dogs can run free without worry. Gentle reminders to follow cues and keep your dog in their designated area at all times. Always remember to follow them!
Black Head Reserve, Gerroa – Accessible from Stafford Street or Headland Drive in Gerroa. Enjoy beautiful views with your furry friend overlooking Seven Mile Beach and the Pacific Ocean. This area is not a 24-hour eastern zone, so enjoy it at any time of the day.

Bombo Headland and Dog Agility Park – Best accessed from the car park at the north end of Bombo Beach, the agility park gives your four-legged friends the chance to let loose and test their skills with the equipment in dog agility.
Gerringong Headland – Located on Tasman Drive a short drive from Werri Beach Rock Pool and Boat Harbour. Enjoy the large cut-east area with stunning ocean and coastal views. Here, the whale-watching platform is the perfect place to spot migrating southern whales and their calves from May to November.
Kaleula Head Reserve – Accessed via Gwinganna Avenue, this head is an easy walk from Kendall’s Beach. This area offers beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and uninterrupted views north to the lighthouse.
Marsden Head – Located a short distance south of Kaleula Head Reserve. Accessed via Tingara Crescent, this promenade overlooks East Beach. As an added bonus, it’s also home to Little Blowhole!

Minnamura Headland – Located off Eureka Avenue between Jones Beach and the mouth of the Minnamura River. This large area is perfect for running your dog while you enjoy gentle walks with stunning views.
If you want to make the most of our pet-friendly beaches, a beach walk is the perfect option. The entire length of the walk (over 20km!) is dog friendly if they are on a leash. Some market beaches prohibit dogs, so check the signs or walk down the back street if unsure. Follow the guide above for dog-friendly beaches.

Your dog is welcome in any run and run area outside of NSW school holidays and long weekends. Kendall’s Beach is unfortunately not dog friendly. However, if you’re looking for a more relaxing spot, Kaleula Headland is a five-minute walk away.
Bombo’s Hideaway – This one bedroom cottage is a lovely cozy granny flat overlooking Bombo Beach. If you are on a couples vacation and want to bring your pet along on the trip, Bombo Hideaway is a great option. Note that they only accept small pets, so be sure to call before booking. Bombo Beach’s off-leash area is conveniently located steps from the front door.
Saddleback Grove, – Located on beautiful Saddleback Mountain, this property offers beautiful countryside and coastal views. Guests can relax in the outdoor spa overlooking the ocean or float by the open fire. They even provide a dog bed for use during your stay – your dog will feel pampered here.

Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park – Absolute beachfront! Pets are welcome to enjoy family breaks in both powered and unpowered areas outside of the NSW school holidays. The property is a water lover’s paradise close to the river and beach. Unfortunately, Seven Mile Beach is not a dog-friendly beach, however, the cut-east area of Black Head Reserve is only minutes away.
Surf Beach Holiday Park – This holiday park overlooking the main beach is family friendly and always fun. Your dog is welcome in any run and run area outside of NSW school holidays and long weekends. Unfortunately Surf Beach is not dog friendly, however Kaleula Headland and Marsden Headland are only a short drive away. Or walk into town to hang out at one of our dog-friendly cafes!
